Expert faculty will discuss the importance of recognizing the impact of health disparities in patients with CKD and will provide strategies to address them to improve patient outcomes.
The goal of this program is to improve the knowledge and competence of learners in effort to optimize treatment for patients with anemia of CKD who face health disparities.
This education is intended to reach nephrologists, hematologists, primary care (internal medicine and family medicine) hospitalists, cardiologists, endocrinologists, and/or allied healthcare professionals who use multichannel platforms and reach a national or regional audience.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify patient populations and causes of health disparities with respect to anemia of CKD
- Discuss the impact of health disparities on patient outcomes in CKD
- Apply mitigation strategies that can help reduce health disparities in patients with anemia of CKD
