Goal Statement
The goal of this activity is to enhance the interprofessional treatment team’s knowledge of cutting-edge HIV treatment, prevention, and cure research and competence in integrating expanding options into individualized management, now and in the future.
Target Audience
This program is intended for physicians, registered nurses, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals who care for persons with or at risk of HIV.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Select appropriately individualized regimens for each patient when initiating ART and when modifying therapy in virologically suppressed individuals
- Apply the latest evidence-based management strategies when selecting a new regimen in patients with virologic failure
- Evaluate candidacy for HIV PrEP and recommend appropriate regimens when indicated
