Goal Statement
The goal of this activity is to improve learners’ competence in providing optimal care for HIV-infected patients through the appropriate use of contemporary ARV regimens.

Target Audience
This program is intended for physicians, registered nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals who provide care for patients with HIV infection.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Integrate best practices in the management of first-line ART and regimen modifications in virologically suppressed patients
  • Apply optimized management strategies for patients with HIV with virologic failure in the setting of an extensive treatment history and multiclass drug resistance
  • Incorporate the latest data and expert insights on emerging innovative ARV treatment or prevention paradigms into the individualized care of persons with or at risk of HIV infection, as appropriate
  • Appropriately counsel patients regarding the anticipated clinical role of new and investigational ART regimens
