Goal Statement
The goal of this activity is to improve learners’ competence in implementing optimal HIV treatment and prevention strategies through the appropriate use of contemporary ARV regimens.
Target Audience
This program is intended for physicians, registered nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals who provide care for patients with HIV infection.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Integrate best practices in the evidence-based management of ART across the spectrum of ART experience
- Identify barriers to PrEP uptake and employ practical strategies to increase PrEP use among those for whom it is recommended
- Incorporate the latest data and expert insights on emerging innovative ARV treatment or prevention paradigms into the individualized care of persons with or at risk of HIV infection
- Appropriately counsel patients regarding the anticipated clinical role of new and investigational ART regimens
